Eastern Rise: A serene holiday retreat on Byron Bay's scenic escarpment, blending original charm with artisan craftsmanship to create a cocooned environment that fosters relaxation and connection with nature.
Located on Byron Bay's most scenic escarpment, Coolamon Scenic Drive’, Eastern Rise sits hillside facing due east to take in the amazing valley views back the most easterly point of Australia – The Cape of Byron Bay.
Nestled in nature, the owners of this holiday house wanted to create a relaxed environment allowing holiday guests to feel cocooned and far removed from the fast paced world when in residence.
THE STORY
Originally built as a budget kit home in 1975, the 2 story, Cape Cod style home had been renovated once before 10 years prior, taking care of the floorplan which still works well today. Still containing the original Oregon timber structural beams and rafters as well as further timber elements added during the last renovation the house already had textural warmth to build upon.
An artisan approach was used in the renovation. All wooden furniture was handmade onsite by local tradesman, the walls were used as artistic backdrops and enhanced with wood paneling, and speciality finishes that blend into the surroundings, both inside and out.
NEW CHAPTER
A cocooned retreat relating to its natural surrounds. Beauty in bare essentials quietly allowing the occupants to relax and reconnect with ‘Simple Living’.
