This was a major project and Emirates Airlines first foray into the hotel market in Australia. The brief was to create a stunning, environmentally friendly luxury countryside retreat that blended in with its surrounds, with all hardwoods used to be recycled timber.
We were engaged to supply F22 grade, NSW Forestry inspected, grey ironbark recycled posts, trusses, and feature beams and recycled timber. The grey ironbark recycled timbers that were used were formerly used in the Australian Pulp & Paper Mill warehouse that was built in 1903.
Ironwood Australia are Australia’s leading and foremost supplier of recycled Australian hardwood timbers.
Ironwood Australia's recycled hardwood timbers are suitable for any purpose for which timber can be used; from residential and commercial premises to golf courses, schools, playgrounds and bridges.
Ironwood (formerly known as the Rozelle Recycled Building Centre) was established more than 20 years ago. Our recycled hardwood timbers are sought after and specified by some of Australia’s most well known and highly regarded architects, project managers, interior designers, property stylists, property developers, hoteliers, restauranteurs and, of course, DIY renovators who want to add some character to their renovation project.
The quality, look and strength of recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timbers far exceeds the quality of new timber products and also has the added attraction of being an environmentally sustainable and renewable building material. Unlike new timber, the resawn recycled timber will stay straight 99% of the time.
This also means that our recycled and reclaimed Australian hardwood timber can be used for a variety of purposes. They can also be milled to size at our own mill and we can finish the timber with a range of finishes to give the timber that exact look you are seeking.
