Sitting on Woolloomooloo Bay, Cowper Wharf has stood for over a century as one of Sydney's most iconic waterfront landmarks. From its origins in the 1860s, through its time as the world's longest timber-piled finger wharf and a departure point for troops in both World Wars, the site carries a rich and layered history.

Fast forward to March, and we had the privilege of capturing this heritage giant in a whole new way - completing a full 3D detail identification survey of the wharf.

This was no ordinary project.
• A massive site with complex heritage façades
• Intricate details down to individual structural bolts
• Windows, louvres, and architectural elements

Why so much detail? The survey forms the foundation for a comprehensive maintenance plan, safeguarding the structure for generations to come.

It's a reminder of how modern surveying technology isn't just about new builds - it's also about preserving history, protecting communities, and ensuring our built heritage continues to tell its story well into the future.
