Garden Atelier sits on a uniquely proportioned 700-square-metre site, with a long, narrow footprint just 9 metres wide. Designed for a family of five, including three young adults, the garden was conceived as an extension of the home — blurring boundaries between indoor and outdoor living at every opportunity.

The initial design integrated key lifestyle elements such as entertaining areas and a swimming pool, while carefully addressing the need for privacy and summer shade. Seasonal light was also a key consideration, with the garden orientated to harness the gentle warmth of the northern sun during winter.

Twelve years after our original involvement, a major renovation to both house and garden prompted a bold reimagining of the outdoor space. Lawns were removed entirely in favour of a more sustainable, low-maintenance design. An eclectic mix of native species, succulents, and cacti brings year-round structure, colour, and interest.

Hibernate Outdoors. Hibernate Outdoors was born from a desire to create environments—at home or at work—that you genuinely enjoy spending time in. Designed by the team at Secret Gardens, our handcrafted pots, planters, and accessories help foster a natural connection between people and place. Created out of necessity, Hibernate began when the Secret Gardens team couldn’t find the quality lightweight pots, large garden pots, or cluster pots they needed for their projects. So, they designed their own. When clients started asking where they could buy the pots, Hibernate was launched. Our deep understanding of architecture, interiors, and landscape design is reflected in every pot and planter we create. Whether you're after indoor garden pots, outdoor pots, or low or tall planters, we focus on form, material, and aesthetic to bring timeless design into everyday spaces. Each fibreglass pot, round pot, or rectangular planter is designed by us and handcrafted with care. Slight imperfections and natural variations in colour are part of their unique character—and exactly what we love. The Hibernate range includes large pots, lightweight planters, office planters, hanging pots, and more, perfect for homes, offices, courtyards, and gardens. Whether you’re looking for big garden pots, succulent pots, or outdoor planters, our pieces are designed to last and make a statement. In addition to our own range of plant pots and garden planters, we’ve curated a thoughtful collection of accessories and brands we admire. From organic plant care and garden tools to beach towels, umbrellas, and picnic rugs, each item complements the Hibernate way of life. Hibernate is proudly based in Sydney, and our full collection of outdoor pots, large indoor pots, and wholesale pots is available to customers and designers across Sydney and Australia. We live and breathe beautiful design, and we’re here to help you create spaces that feel just right.
