AQL transforms a mundane backyard into a serene Japanese-inspired water garden oasis, featuring a tea house, aquatic plants, and a harmonious blend of exotic and Australian flora.
Known for their limited palette, neutral tones, beauty and movement, Japanese gardens have been a source of inspiration and wonder for the west. AQL has designed and built multiple projects which combine the best Japanese garden design to fit our Australian climate.
Greensborough private garden Victoria Australia
A Japanese-inspired garden with an Australian flair.
This garden was an uninteresting backyard with a few trees and shrubs and a coochy grass lawn. Which has now been transformed into a water garden oasis complete with a Japanese tea house overhanging water cascading Australian billabong. Complete with aquatic plants, fish, and ornamental sculptures the garden has transverse into its only little ecosystem.
Decorative bamboo screen panels create the backdrop to a mix of exotic and Australian plants. The outdoor shower is a cool and revitalising element within the space. A mix of natural stone and timber compliments the planting and built elements. The dark green/maroon foliage of the espaliered forest pansy tree contrast with the lime green leaves of the Japanese maple tree. Relax on the teahouse deck and enjoy the soothing sound of running water.
