From a 1940’s red brick home to a graceful blend of old meets new.

Located in Collaroy on the beautiful Northern Beaches, Sydney, this home was built in the early 1940s. Although the original 3-bedroom red brick home made a cosy start for the Driver family when purchased back in 2007, the tiny kitchen, closed in rooms made for tight and cosy quarters as the family grew.

Over the past 16 years, our client Sarah & Kell Driver slowly chipped away at opening the home – new kitchen, large alfresco area, pool and granny flat addition - whilst respecting the original red brick character, history and original features of the home.

This past 12 months our team at JMP Interior Design were thrilled to assist with the final piece of their renovation journey, the first storey addition and enviable parents’ retreat.

Designing an extraordinary light filled space, we opened the interiors into an impressive 11m high void, making it comfortable to entertain across both levels of the home, and keeping an easy eye on their children. “We like to be close by one another, that was most important to us that our home still feel like a warm hug at the end of a day and our sanctuary together” Sarah says.

The second floor is truly spectacular with high skillion ceilings throughout, fully customised master ensuite, open planned lounge and bar, sprawling onto a generous balcony with panoramic ocean views over beautiful Collaroy and Long Reef headland. And not to mention, the oversized fully customised his and hers walk-in-robe adorned in natural oak and the impressive verde alpi marble.
