MUD created a practical entertaining space suitable for the family to play, dine or simply relax to the backdrop of the stunning tree-lined vista. The design is modern and elegant, with luscious natural highlights and functional elements that invite you to explore the space and discover the beauty of the garden and its natural vantage point.
In achieving the brief and concept we’ve fused several stylistic elements including, contemporary design, tropical plantings, with inspiration from Japanese garden design, whilst adhering to the Zen philosophy of minimalism.
The hero of the design is the sunken seating area and the feature laser-cut screen where the splayed steel and fragmented design feature of the balustrade fuses the natural outlook with the seating area. This creates fluidity between the site and the natural environment whilst immersing those who inhabit it in the treescape. Here there ceases to be a garden and the outside environment, rather they are one.
