+ OUR BRIEF
Our client was looking for a large family holiday home in Wanaka that woul cater for large family gatherings, and also allow them to transition their life to Wanaka for permanent living as their lifestyle changed.
The family holidays are focused on skiing during winter and swimming during summer.
+ OUR SOLUTION
The initial concept for the home came from the idea of the sun shining through the water of the swimming pool to create patterns of light on the floor. The pool sits against the feature entry window and swimmers are visible through the water.
The home is oriented to the views over Lake Wanaka, with uninterrupted views from the outdoor area and the swimming pool, while a sheltered breakfast area on the other side of the house allows for quiet coffee in the sun in the morning.
