Lakes Edge

This hi spec home in Queenstown had a number of requirements for us to meet:

  • Centralised lighting, shading and audio visual
  • Home and away modes as well as guest wing on/off scenarios
  • Sensors to help drive the bathrooms and other areas

We installed a KNX building control system as well as Simon Wall switches for a clean, linear look. Control is all operated from an app that is tablet, smart phone and web browser friendly – allowing the homeowner easy but remote access.

A number of events are scheduled in to ensure smooth day to day running of the house. Heated towel rails are timed to come on twice a day at key times to help dry the towels, but remain an energy efficient feature of the home. Feature lighting is to activate and deactivate accordingly. They also requested night mode. Activated from the bedside, the sensors reduce the hallway lighting to 20%. Day mode is reactivated the next day at a certain time, if not by the homeowner.
