Milns Park is residential subdivision situated in Halswell, on the outskirts of Christchurch. 

Formally farm land, Xteriorscapes worked alongside the developers, engineers and Christchurch City Council to transform this land. Two key areas of the design were 'Dunbars Drain' and a play space. 

Dunbars Drain was a waterway which the clients wanted to naturalise to improve it's ecological value for aquatic fauna and its stormwater function while adding aesthetic value. 

Part of the brief also included designing a playground and recreation space that worked within the existing trees and drew people into the reserve. We sought to design a reserve space that felt natural, with traditional materials that were appropriate for the site.
