This new home has simple passive design techniques that drive the environmental performance of this house, with orientation, natural ventilation, thermal mass, insulation, under floor hydronic heating and appropriate glazing combining to provide year-round comfort. The four bedrooms plus study home was designed for a family of four to enjoy the fully landscaped backyard to facilitate indoor / outdoor living including a separate studio and shed in the backyard. Materials have been chosen for their durability, economy, and environmental characteristics. The modern Colorbond cladding used on the first floor combined with the use of the recycled red brick assisted with the integration this modern home into an established streetscape.
