Mt Stewart-Halcombe Road

This beautiful home belongs to a family of four.  They had built a couple of years ago and decided it was time to create a space that would help them feel more connected as a family. They consulted Emma Brown Design in the hope of making their dreams a reality. The intention was to create a shared living space that the whole family could utilize, as it’s nestled right next to their busy family kitchen. As a smart addition, a study nook and window seating were placed next to the kitchen providing the perfect opportunity to connect more as a family. The nook is beautifully balanced with integrated slimline shelving positioned above the desk and the stunning big window brings nature in closer, and invite lots of natural light in. The rust orange squabs add vibrancy on the largest window seat the team at Emma Brown Design have ever installed, and the dreamy flamingo wallpaper softens and neutralizes the space. A rug has been placed to define the zone, and to invite warmth and texture to the room. A simple renovation solution has made all the difference to create a space which is both beautiful and functional for this family.  It’s transformed an unused space to somewhere the family can interact while also connecting the spaces in the large open plan living area. Location: Palmerston North.
