A long-time family Bach was the origin of this build when the owners decided to convert it into a permanent home. The design brief was for the existing Bach to remain part of the house but to add bedroom, ensuite, kitchen, dining and lounge. The Bach layout was redesigned to include a double garage and bathroom. Extensive coastal views were utilised by including a mezzanine floor area in the addition with an elevated deck that has become a focal point of the home. The use of open balustrading and laminated timber open tread stairs allows natural light to flood the area and highlight the natural warmth of the timber.
