Transformation of a 1930s Spanish Mission house in Palm Springs, enhancing the entry living room into a luxurious space for relaxation and entertainment while preserving its unique architectural charm.
The clients of this Palm Springs 1930s Spanish Mission house bought it a year ago as a holiday rental, as it is located in Old Las Palmas, is in the midst of all the gorgeous mid-century architectural gems.
Brooke Aitken Design worked on the front entry living room taking it from a very tired 1980s decor to one befitting this entertainer house, which is being gradually reworked as time allows in between rental lettings. It is a difficult and odd space, making it hard to furnish, being both an entry hall, living room and corridor between different wings of the house. It also has multiple doorways leading out to where the pool action is - the true heart of this house.
So to contend with all those factors, this living room needed to be a place where you feel you could rest in luxury and have a fireside chat, read a book, play a game or fall asleep in the mid-morning sun.
