Palmerston North Supreme

Here’s how to marry country and contemporary in one beautiful home. The 312sqm H-shaped house on the rural outskirts of the city offers the very best of both styles. The warm country vibe is obvious from the start. Band-sawn macrocarpa weatherboards are teamed with Belgian tumbled bricks and long-run steel roofing. The contemporary aspect comes courtesy of a pavilion design and the very latest in modern conveniences and decor. A recess in the H-shape makes an inviting entrance while the niche on the other side is an impressive outdoor room with skylights, heater, furniture and tiled level-entry access to the lounge, family and dining spaces as well as the main-bedroom suite. The matte-grey kitchen with hidden walk-in pantry has designer delights such as splashbacks made from copper mosaic tiles and feature LED strip lighting throughout. Sliding timber barn-style doors, engineered oak flooring and recycled items throughout the house, including wooden beams sourced and repurposed from the local Awapuni Racecourse Ascot stand, reinforce the warm country theme. With five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living spaces, kids’ retreat, separate laundry and a double garage, the home also meets the needs of a growing family.
