Contemporary cliffside home featuring a gallery-style interior that showcases a curated collection of art, including works by Sarah Munroe and Luise Fong, enhancing the aesthetic appeal and personal connection of the space.
This contemporary home is perched on the cliff face overlooking Orakei Basin. The owners’ collection of contemporary art is displayed on the gallery-style interior walls.
Part of my brief was to guide the owners in the acquisition of new art for the entrance way. ‘Reflection’ by Sarah Munroe hangs on a concave wall. The eyes in the face in the art hold your eye, which is especially apt, because one of the home owners is an eye surgeon.
I was able to persuade my clients to hang two large Luise Fong paintings side by side on the far rectangular wall. The space allowed for this, and together they create impact.
