With a love for the nautical history of its Port Melbourne address, every bespoke arc, curve and radius throughout the construction were features achieved through a truly collaborative approach with the owner, architect and interior designer all focusing on a common goal.
The elegant double-fronted Victorian façade belies the innovative use of form, colour, light and materials that casts beyond the front door.
The contemporary extension includes a floor to ceiling curved glass light well, curved joinery, curved feature bathroom tiled walls, in-slab hydronic heating and a 4 metre high raked ceiling.
An open 1.5-metre circular window in the studio space creates not only a sculptural statement but a connected emphasis on natural light and sea breeze filtering through the home. The external zincalume cladding with bifold doors creates an extended indoor/outdoor living space experience.
