The integration of the pool and the floor plan was the clients' main concern. In order to achieve the best possible outcome, I orientated the pool in a north/east direction. This protected the outdoor space from the harsh south westerly winds and allowed the fresh north easterly during summer. The large glazed sections within the main living spaces faced north/east to gain the views over  the pool and gardens but just as importantly to capture the winter sun. The other big benefit was during summer, the home would cast a shadow over the pool area without the need of using sails or a shading system.  Control of the high volume spaces and sleeping spaces was also a high priority. High volume spaces were placed quite distant to the sleeping quarters.
