Retro Orthodontist

Welcome to the Retro Orthodontist project completed in 2018 by Marlene Hudson Design for Tony Lund Orthodontist. Our mission was to revamp the reception and treatment rooms with a retro theme, incorporating vibrant colours to create a warm and inviting environment for patients. No major structural changes were made, focusing instead on updating the colour scheme, carpet, and enhancing lighting levels.  The inspiration for the vibrant colour palette came from the fabrics used to reupholster the restored retro chairs in the reception area. These fabrics are from Warwick Fabrics' outdoor range, ensuring durability and colourfastness to withstand the high traffic in reception. To add a touch of fun and interest, different fabric patterns were mixed on each piece of furniture.  In addition to the retro theme, the clinic incorporates elements like Glenn Jones art pieces and Ian Blackwell road signs to add layers of intrigue. Plants have been introduced in the reception area for their air-purifying benefits, while unique lighting fixtures and wallpaper patterns reference orthodontic braces and wires, creating a cohesive and visually appealing space.
