The Rex Apartments: A transformed hotel in Potts Point, Sydney, featuring a redesigned Macleay Street Lobby by Mathieson Architects, showcasing light washed limestone walls, a terracotta terrazzo floor, and elegant furnishings.
The Rex is an apartment development located in Sydney’s Potts Point. Originally a hotel, the building was converted into apartments in 2002. Mathieson Architects were commissioned to re-design the Macleay Street Lobby in 2012. The new design incorporates light washed, sandblasted limestone walls with an existing rich terracotta coloured terrazzo floor. A parchment coloured leather bench seat and a six-meter long stone concierge desk with a bronze desk lamp furnish the lobby.
