Saint Leger

Contemporary elegance with relaxed sophistication encompassed the brief for this family home in rural Te Awamutu. The home is situated perfectly to capture the sensational views across the surrounding farmland towards both Mt Kakapuku and Mt Pirongia. The main structure of the build is with a rendered finish on concrete block with wall to wall and floor to ceiling windows and exposed lacquered steel framing throughout the home.  Natural light floods every part of the home, and the surrounding landscape provides a truly stunning rural vista from every window.  With the use of Tasmanian oak flooring throughout the main living areas, along with carpet in the TV lounge, bedrooms and kids wing, as well as extensive seamless kwila decking around the house exterior, together help to anchor the interior of the home to the outside, preparing it for the inside/outside flow of family life. Using a variety of textures in the soft furnishing details and furniture inside and outside have meant that both the indoor and outdoor living areas have become relaxed and comfortable amidst the concrete, steel and glass structures of the home.  All of the aspects of the homes creation have created a relaxed yet sophisticated family residence, that can adapt to the changes of a growing family and stand the test of time.
