Shoreditch Furniture is a New Zealand furniture design and manufacturing company with workshops in Warkworth and Waiheke Island. The company makes mid-century style, hand-crafted ranges and bespoke designs.

Kasey Coory, managing director and Shoreditch designer, has created items including bedside cabinets and 3-drawer units using Plymasters’ Bamboo Ply. Kasey said he was attracted by the quality, traceability and the distinctive edge, which is left exposed in his work.

Bamboo ply, the ultimate renewable resource, has values that sit very comfortably with those of Shoreditch Furniture’s which are focussed on the environment, health and low waste. Kasey says the product has also helped create a very distinctive look that’s also very “on point”. “I love working with bamboo for the aesthetics it is great to work with and very strong and stable.”

Bamboo Ply makes beautiful furniture and cabinets and is an ideal building material. It is 30% harder than oak, 17% harder than maple and is resistant to moulds, termites and warping.
