Sky House | Melbourne

Sky House flips the traditional Australian dream on its head. Forget the quarter-acre block with a Hills Hoist out the back. This is an unapologetically luxurious home in the sky. Spanning three levels, this four-bedroom apartment was designed for a family of five (three teenagers included). With its rooftop pool, wellness spaces, and generous floorplates, it feels more like a private home than a penthouse. But make no mistake: Sky House isn’t just about ticking boxes, it’s about rewriting them altogether. From the moment you step inside, materiality becomes your tour guide. The entryway sets the tone with checkerboard tiling—playful, timeless—and subtle coffered ceilings that hide the necessary services while adding just the right amount of old-world charm. The open-plan kitchen and dining are inviting and modern, dressed in cool grey stone, warm timber, and accents of mustard and mauve to keep things interesting. The kids’ lounge takes a moodier turn. Think charcoal render that gives the ceiling a velvety depth, green-toned joinery that riffs off the olive couch, and an atmosphere that’s equal parts broody and beautiful—just like a teenager, really. Upstairs, the master suite is a study in elevation—light, refined, and deeply restorative. The adjoining study and private lounge channel a quieter energy, more introspective, with an understated sophistication that invites you to exhale. Each space has its own personality, carefully crafted to suit its purpose, but together they form a cohesive whole. This is a home that understands the nuance of modern family life: the shared moments, the need for retreat, the joy of small rituals.
