By Macfie Architecture
Completed in 2017, the Spinnaker Bay House stands as a testament to the vision of two first-time homeowners who sought to create a standout in a sea of uniformity. Their meticulous research and unwavering aesthetic principles culminated in a precise brief for a design that exuded classical elegance, timeless style, and minimal maintenance requirements.
Macfie Architecture rose to the challenge, crafting a two-storey contemporary masterpiece that pays homage to the iconic New Zealand gable form, reminiscent of the original kiwi bach’s that once graced the area. The use of timeless timber bevel back weatherboard and James Hardie Axon panel not only adds to the visual appeal but also ensures practicality and durability.
The interior of the house seamlessly blends light and dark elements, creating a lofty, airy ambiance that transitions effortlessly from the open lower levels to the three bedrooms on the upper floor. This coastal retreat is a modern sanctuary for a discerning couple seeking a harmonious blend of style and functionality.
