The owners, Adam and Chloe fell in love with their little brick house and wouldn’t be knocking it down. They engaged long-time friend and architect, Chris Rowlands, creative director at RADStudio, to design a family home that celebrates coastal living.

Extensive Fixed Lite Windows draw in the surrounding view, framing a courtyard cactus which is a central feature in the home. Hinged Doors and Casement Windows open out to the ocean to draw in the cool sea breezes and promote crossflow ventilation.

The sunken living space features stone flooring, that offers an earthiness underfoot. The room’s 6 metre Fixed Lite Window (with 90° silicon butt join) offers visual interest to the beachfront beyond. Earthy tones complement the whitewashed Tasmanian oak interiors in a home that stands true to its surroundings, truly possessing its own natural glow.
