This stunning new home from leading architectural firm, Herbst Architects, is a showcase of contemporary design. In keeping with the rest of the home, the kitchen design is ultra-clean and elegant, with a ‘wall’ of cabinetry that runs floor to ceiling with minimal gaps to create a seamless appearance. The benchtop features a slot window at the back, and the whole opening is surrounded by a 10mm steel box that contains the hob bench and overhead cabinets. The island conveys a monolithic feel, with a 60mm thick black granite benchtop. The hob wall fronts and panels are moisture-resistant MDF, finished in satin polyurethane, and the island is oak veneer, with a natural polyurethane finish. All hardware is supplied by Blum and appliances are from Fisher and Paykel.
