The Braggato Research Institute in Blenheim is dedicated to research and innovation for the New Zealand wine industry.  It's new state-of-the-art facility designed by Jerram Tocker Barron Architects opened in February 2020 and is notable for the eye-catching Hush Panel ceiling in their large open-plan meeting space - a triumph of clever design, joinery skills and functionality.

The ceiling is made from Prime Melamine in Tahoe Walnut pressed on a fire-rated black MDF - creating a striking negative detail when perforated to reveal the core.   Nelson joinery firm Cooper Webley made and installed the Hush Panels into the ceiling - these can also be used as a wall panel when noise in a large space needs to be reduced.
