This coastal getaway was designed for the active families of two brothers. Named after the initials of each brother (R & D) The RAD Pad is a second home for both families. With communal living spaces to share stories of diving, fishing and hunting, and private areas to retreat to, it blends shared and personal areas under one roof. The house can be closed down to suit a couple, or opened up to house multiple families and generations.

Set on the rugged Wairarapa Coast the building nestles into the hillside, sheltering it's occupants while capturing expansive views of the coastline. The building is constructed with hard-wearing materials, designed to blend-in with it's natural surroundings. Sheltered courtyards have been formed around the house plan to ensure the coastal air can be enjoyed no matter which way the wind is howling.

The RAD Pad has become a hub for our wonderful clients family and friends, and will continue to perform for years to come.
