By Elbow Architects
An extension and full renovation to a mid century modern home.
The existing home was U shaped but lacking in space for an active family. The brief was to maintain natural light and a connection to the exterior while creating more flexible space for the family.
The result was to enclose a side of the U, creating an interior courtyard that provides light into the central core of the home. The extension is fully glazed on both sides, linking the interior spaces with the lush garden.
The resulting design has created a peaceful, light-filled, welcoming, family home, with extremely functional, well-thought-out spaces.
Elbow Architects design homes that respond to the environment and reflect how you want to live.
We pride ourselves on creating spaces that not only reflect the use of that space, but how that space occupies the natural landscape. Our designs are unique, adaptable, and above all, functional.
We focus on understanding your needs, all aspects of the site and the surrounding environment. We take into consideration how you want to live, your budget and pull this all together to create thoughtful and captivating architectural homes.
We like to take on interesting and challenging projects and always welcome a conversation to kick around an inspirational idea you might have.
