Ponsonby Villa Renovation

One of our crowning achievements in recent times is our complete restoration and revitalization our this Villa found in Ponsonby. Our client approached us, with a very specific vision. Having been involved in the construction industry and having a great breadth of knowledge of different products. We were chosen as the team to help deliver this project. And it wasn't for the faint of heart. This villa is quintessential central Auckland home. Built more than a hundred years ago nestled in what can only be described as a cute row of character homes. This area has since been deemed special character by local authorities and as such comes with an extra layer of requirements to ensure characteristics are preserved. So the challenge is, how do you turn a small villa into a modern spacious home fit for a family? You lift it! In order to achieve more space on the same footprint, the home was lifted and a basement/rumpus room was created under the home. This allowed the back end of the home to be opened up creating what can only be described as flawless open plan living onto a flat (after being lifted) back lawn. The results are stunning. With a beautiful kitchen designed by Annika Rowson from Rowson Kitchens and some great material selections by the client, the home is modern inside, while respecting the history and flavor of the original home. The floor is mirrored by a floor on the ceiling giving an endless feeling and flow to the home. Built during the throws of COVID-19 there were challenges abound. But the home was ultimately delivered on budget and to the highest of building standards. The home itself was accepted into the Revere Magazine, which is a publication for New Zealand Certified Builders members to showcase their skill and craftsmanship.  A project we are delighted to share with you.
