_ON THE DRAWING BOARD_

This is our proposal for a stunning private residence in Queenstown, New Zealand.

The property sits to the west of central Queenstown in a private gated community and enjoys incredible, uninterrupted views of Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkable mountain range, and Cecil Peak.

Being located in the Southern Alps, we have conceptually taken the idea of a fault line to articulate the various rooms and spaces. The ‘crevices’ within the fault line are used for circulation between the three stories of the house, which is also partially buried into the landscape.

As it is a south-facing site, we have fractured the top floor and partially tilted it 20 degrees to the west to capture some of the afternoon sun and capitalize on the expansive views.
