This beautiful family home in Whanganui is a stellar example of innovative, technology informed modern construction applied in a residential context, resulting in a home that is sustainable both in terms of construction and in day to day energy consumption, livability, comfort and health.
Set in a tree lined paradise, just 5 minutes from the town centre. The well established family lifestyle block is beautifully sets out to provide home to the family along with the dog, horses and other animals that you would expect. The architecture is as timeless as land it sits on a with a main single pitch roof that provides the simple but iconic architecture. This is a feature of many eHaus de-signs as it is also the most efficient approach with less external area to provide the same amount of internal living space. The covered outdoor areas to the front and rear of the property was a must have and ensure that indoor out door flow is an option all year round.
Beautifully built the home meets remarkably high standards for air tightness and energy performance, achieved through thoughtful, science driven decisions on window and door placement, investment in high performance window products and supporting ventilation systems.

At eHaus, we live like efficiency is our point, and intelligent construction our norm. We live like our environment is a privilege and protecting it our responsibility. We live like New Zealanders are our passion, and ingenuity is our response.
eHaus was established in 2010 by Jon Iliffe and Baden & Glenda Brown with the dream of creating a New Zealand owned and operated specialist design and construction company using PassivHaus build and design principles.
Jon, a Mechanical Production Engineer from Rolls Royce Motors, arrived in New Zealand and looking to build a family home went seeking out alternative options and found the PassivHaus way.
Baden, a master builder of 20 years, disillusioned with the poor performance of the high-end homes he was building for clients, also was seeking other options, and discovered PassivHaus. Together, with Jon and Glenda - Financial director, eHaus was formed.
Our eHaus team is made up of some of the country's best Passive House builders, architects and designers who are redefining the way kiwis live, one home at a time. Our team of professionals work together to see your dreams come to reality.
