The Richmond showroom along Swan Street was designed to create an engaging environment that captured the essence of each market segment attracted by Winning Appliances.
Large picture windows, edged with new deep copper reveals, draw in those passing by. The façade was also stripped back and rendered in white to add clarity to the new showroom. A second entrance to the side, combined with parking, also establishes a sense of arrival through new steel and glass doors.
The flagship store for Victoria, the design embodies the brand identity, providing an unparalleled retail experience for clients, whilst embracing its context. The spatial planning and tenancy configuration meticulously curated caters for all cooks – from the avid chef to home cook. The centerpiece kitchen upon entering the steel doors showcases the elegance and capabilities of a Winning kitchen.
Strategically placed planter beds offer a sense of the outdoors, as well as softening the interior industrial aesthetic. Painted walls were stripped to reveal the original bricks and the entire space was opened up to create fluid displays and work areas. There are no enclosed or separate offices, staff float throughout the open-plan space, looking over plans with clients and their architects or designers, within a context that can be fully understood.
Pivotal to the design is the ‘Culinary Experience Centre’ located at the core, with its steel benches and moody black joinery. The four-metre-wide perforated steel canopy acts a drawcard.
What was previously a mezzanine-style office is now a gallery, showcasing not only the finest kitchen appliances, but, importantly, tailored identities to showcase appliances and kitchens for every home-owner under the Winnings brand.
