The concept design for Yu Long Fu as a Chinese bun and dumpling restaurant is driven by Tsing Yi, which is a traditional Chinese opera role in Chinese culture In Chinese culture, one of the fundamentals of life intimately relates to a fresh food market. Given that the market's role in ensuring food supply for a population for centuries, it is also a source of social interactions and building community relationships, flourishing the lives of many. The essential qualities of the concept are conveyed through the design decisions: wallpaper paintings signify loyalty, the use of wood as intelligence, geometrical design elements as purity, the use of black steel as gentleness, and lastly the overall soft ambience which represents immortality.
