This philosophy sits at the core of Heka Hoods, and at the heart of its founder, CEO, and visionary, Yvette Kordick. Through a balance of engineering precision and architectural clarity, Yvette has established Heka Hoods as a true presence within exterior façades, where performance is essential, and design is intentional. The Heka Hoods’ system was developed as a tool for design professionals to bring their creative visions to life and “create beautiful lines, simply.”
Where form and function meet, Yvette often reflects that the product is “beauty, engineered.”
Identifying the Design Gap
Heka Hoods offers architectural sunhoods that enable designers to create beautiful lines without brackets. For builders, a fast and effective way to install an awning which was once considered a time consuming, expensive option.
More than a bracket-less hood, Heka Hoods allows professionals to articulate their creative vision for an exterior, with a product they know will work. The Heka Hoods system is trusted for its beauty, quality, and in house design support.
Our solutions are founded in beauty and must be easy to use and install. Our design approach is to look at problems as an opportunity to do things differently.
Heka Hoods was configured with beauty in mind, placing emphasis on pared back functionality, quality and simplicity. An awning system that would be both flexible in its dynamic application, making almost any hood shape possible on site with a fast and clean installation method, while at the same time being flat packable and modular, enabling a national product to emerge.
The patented hood and design protected connection system allow professionals a dynamic tool, where almost any hood shape can be created, often creating an elegant statement or point of difference on a façade.
The invention has turned the awning, which was once considered a bland addition, into an understated and elegant form of expression to the building fabric, enabling the architect's vision to come alive.
Heka Hoods, in the process of solving these industry issues, created a whole new market, pioneering the first bracket-less awning hood system in the world, headlined by the Architectural Range.
Beautiful Lines, Built to Endure
Each Heka Hood is designed to sit comfortably across a wide range of façade types, from residential to large-scale commercial applications.
This simplicity is underpinned by rigorous engineering. Manufactured and engineered in Australia from durable aluminium, Heka Hoods are designed to manage airflow effectively, provide robust solar protection, and perform reliably across diverse environmental conditions, while contributing to the energy efficiency score, including BASIX, NABERS, Green Star and NaTHERS.
Powder-coated finishes are specified with architectural palettes in mind, enabling the product to either blend into the façade or be retrofit, always in service of the overall design.
Designed for Environment
Australia’s climate demands more from external building elements. High UV exposure, coastal conditions, and temperature extremes require materials and construction methods that prioritise longevity, reliability, and performance.
As modern methods of construction continue to be championed across Australia, there is a growing emphasis on prefabrication, precision manufacturing, and components that arrive on site ready to perform. This shift aligns closely with the recent release of Express by Heka Hoods, Express by Heka Hoods, a prefabricated sunhood solution created to meet the pace of modern construction without sacrificing design integrity.
With next day dispatch and arriving site ready with easy installation, Express offers a streamlined alternative for projects requiring efficiency. It reflects the same considered detailing and performance standards, delivered in a format that accelerates timelines and simplifies the build process.
A Brand Shaped by Collaboration
Heka Hoods continues to evolve through close engagement with architects, builders, and engineers. Feedback from real projects informs ongoing refinement, ensuring that each product performs as intended on site and integrates smoothly into construction workflows.
This collaborative mindset has shaped a brand that responds thoughtfully rather than reactively.
Looking Ahead
As Heka Hoods enters year ten of operations, Yvette’s direction remains deliberate. Product developments will continue to build on the same principles that define the brand today; architectural clarity, engineered performance, and products designed to belong within their environment.
For architects and designers, Heka Hoods offers a solution where no compromise is required, where essential external materials are treated with the same care as the rest of the building.
In the hands of Yvette, engineering becomes considered, form becomes purposeful, and simplicity becomes the ultimate expression of design confidence.
