Functional custom lighting

Function and form is the quiet hero in technical lighting design. when a custom lighting piece is aesthetically beautiful while offering comfortable adequate light.
Good luminaire design will consider the space's lighting requirements and design the lighting within the custom piece to perform to the needs of the area.
Function and Form

Commercial lighting compliance often seemingly inhibits creative design. Bluelab Design have decades of technical lighting/luminiare design and production experience. Our staff work closely with project teams to see the design brief to fruition.
Bluelab understand and deliver compliant products and lighting designs both commercially and domestically.
Above project: Phoenix Gallery NSW designed by Wardle Studio and Durbach Block jaggers. Custom Emergency Lights with High ceiling ratings with a grey finish. ETAP K9 incorporated.

Elenberg Fraser's Luna Apartments had fire rated ceilings, the interiors team did not want to see any ceiling lighting in the public areas. The Services Engineer was not convinced the lighting levels could be met from the wall number lighting. Bluelab Design modeled the Custom products and worked closely with both the Architects and Engineers to see the iconic design to fruition. At the time, this concept was daring and unique. This minimal design has been re-used many times now. It would not have been possible without collaborative expertise.
Years later, Bluelab Design was asked to provide the same minimal look for The R Hotel in Geelong.

Boola Katitjin - Murdoch Uni WA Custom over study table lighting designed by Lyon Architects. The Lighting needed to be 320-350Lux on the table top, low glare UGR<19 for compliance. With two lengths of LED extrusion suspended over each white desk, the lighting could have been too bright. Bluelab Design modeled the lighting using numerous different LED PCB data to find the best outcome for the illumination. Low wattage Samsung PCB's were used coupled with Phillips Dali drivers. Downward lighting 4000K cool white, upward lighting 3000K warm white - separately switched.
The wiring is concealed with the central rod.
