Which Visionline Fireplace & Flue System Is Right for Your Project?
Once you’ve selected your preferred Taurus model, choosing the right flue system is equally important to achieving optimal fireplace performance.
The Visionline AFS+ insulated air flue draws combustion air directly from outside, making it the premium solution for passive homes and modern airtight builds where efficiency, control and indoor air quality are essential.
The Visionline IFS is a fully insulated, room-sealed flue system engineered for demanding environments, making it ideal for coastal and marine locations, as well as elevated sites exposed to cold temperatures and high winds.
Both systems deliver significant advantages over traditional air-cooled flues, offering improved efficiency, cleaner installation aesthetics and enhanced environmental protection — all while being tested and approved to AS/NZS 2918 standards.
Insulated Flue Systems — Cleaner Performance, Greater Efficiency, Superior Protection
AFS+ Insulated Air Flue System
Designed in Norway to withstand the demands of the Scandinavian climate, the Visionline AFS+ represents the pinnacle of modern flue technology. Its innovative coaxial design draws combustion air directly from outside, allowing the fireplace to ignite faster, burn longer and heat more efficiently.
At its core, the 150mm active flue is wrapped in premium Morgan ceramic insulation, while a 25mm cavity between the inner and outer pipes channels fresh outside air directly to the appliance’s air intake. The result is a true balanced flue fireplace system engineered for exceptional performance, efficiency and control.
AFS+ Key Features:
Advanced ceramic insulation for optimal draft and up to 95% noise reduction
Coaxial design draws combustion air from outside (balanced flue/direct vent)
Fully room-sealed and energy efficient
Twist lock joints – the only EN/CE compliant system in NZ
Powder-coated black, interior and exterior
3-layer design including 306/316 stainless steel and 0.5mm carbon composite
Enhanced with Safety Vent for passive home construction compliance
Supports up to 3 metres of unsupported flue from the ceiling brace
Approved to AS/NZS 2918
IFS - Insulated Flue System
The Visionline IFS offers a significant advancement over traditional air-cooled flue systems, eliminating open air connections between the interior of the home and the flue termination. This fully insulated, room-sealed design delivers improved efficiency, cleaner installation aesthetics and superior environmental protection.
Engineered for demanding conditions, the IFS is particularly well suited to coastal environments exposed to salt-laden air, as well as elevated or exposed sites subject to cold temperatures and high winds.
The system maintains a consistent flue diameter from the fireplace spigot through to termination — 150mm inner flue and 200mm outer casing — removing the need for a visible ceiling drop-box and allowing for a cleaner, more refined architectural finish.
IFS Key Features:
Advanced ceramic insulation for optimal draft and up to 95% noise reduction
Twist lock joints – the only EN/CE compliant system in NZ
Powder-coated black, interior and exterior
2-layer design including 306 stainless steel inner/outer flue
