Accoya is non-toxic chemical free hardwood which is exceptional for outdoor use. It is warranted for 50 years in above ground applications and 25 years in below ground applications.
New Zealand weather conditions can be harsh, and houses are built in exposed sites, to take into account the natural environment.
Those demanding quality and durability have an option of Accoya®. Accoya® is a high performance, sustainably-sourced wood. Accoya® undergoes a proprietary, non-toxic acetylation process that permanently modifies the wood to the core.
Accoya wood has been produced commercially since 2007 and used extensively around the world on a range of exterior applications. It represents a major development in wood technology that has made the consistent supply of durable, dimensionally stable and reliable wood a reality. Accoya wood's performance credentials have been extensively researched and repeatedly demonstrated. Accoya has properties that exceed those of world's best woods yet it is manufactured by modifying wood sourced from well-managed sustainable forests without the introduction of toxins.
Accoya is the world's leading high technology wood. It is produced from a non-toxic cellular modification process known as acetylation. The softwood used in the process is Radiata Pine sourced from sustainably managed forests in New Zealand. The result is a durable, stable and non-toxic material with performance characteristics better than any hardwood. Accoya wood is modified uniformly through the cross section, not just at the surface. Modification quality of each batch produced is validated by a range of sophisticated and proven tests that takes place in Accsys Technologies laboratories. This quality control approach is independently audited by organisations from USA, France and Netherlands.
