A Bokashi unit is a fantastic way to reduce your household waste and turn food scraps (even meat and dairy) into a garden superfood that puts the good stuff back into your soil. Our unit is hygienic, easy to use in your kitchen and has been developed to match our Tanova Designer Series pull out kitchen bins. It's responsible, safe, sustainable... and rewarding too!

Estimates are that more than 229, 000 tonnes of New Zealand’s annual landfill waste is food (that’s more than 400 Olympic sized swimming pools!) and 50% of that is avoidable. Australian estimates are that 4 million tonnes of food ends up as landfill, enough to fill 8,400 Olympic sized swimming pools!

Saves money too: New Zealand estimates suggest it costs more than $870 million per year to dispose of avoidable food waste to landfill, and the Australian government calculates that food waste costs the economy $20 billion per year.

Tanova's Bokashi unit:

  • reduces your household’s carbon footprint and contribution to greenhouse gas pollution.
  • is comprehensive; it can take ALL food waste, even meat and dairy.
  • is airtight so creates anaerobic (no oxygen) fermentation; so no icky odours.
  • is faster than traditional composting.

Tanova offers space-efficient storage and waste solutions for kitchen and laundry.

Tanova pull out bins and baskets are designed and assembled in New Zealand. All Tanova laundry units have an official New Zealand Made licence, as do any Tanova kitchen bins with 20L and/or 36L buckets.

Tanova kitchen bins and laundry baskets slide away out of sight yet are easily accessed when needed.

Our pull-out kitchen rubbish bins are hygienic and easy to clean, with most models having a top mounted cover that acts as an odour-minimiser when unit is closed. Multiple bin/basket configurations offer excellent solutions for sorting/storing recyclables and organic kitchen waste or, in the laundry, for pre-sorting loads before washing.

Whether your project is a new home, a kitchen renovation or a laundry makeover, make sure you see the Tanova range!

In Australia, Tanova waste bin and laundry systems are distributed by Furnware Group and by Dorset.

Ranges may differ from state to state.
