On a practical level this is what we do to meet our environmental responsibilities: -

• We recommend Passive House Standard and Passive Solar Design principles.
• We prioritise adaptive reuse and renewal of existing buildings and infrastructure.
• We advocate for the installation of solar panels, air tightness, insulation, rainwater harvesting natural ventilation, eco-friendly materials and small footprint living.

We encourage clients, consultants and suppliers to participate in the process of making our projects more sustainable. Together we can make a difference and demonstrate what’s possible. As part of our commitment to reducing carbon footprint, we promote and educate clients on the benefits of minimising their environmental impact with each project.

More than ever we are navigating an increasingly complex process of approvals, compliance requirements and building and planning regulations. Recent reports by the ARBV paint a systemic shift in the building industry which sees compliance, competency and cost related pressures adversely affecting the profession. Their reports concluded that architecture practices whose work is underpinned by high professional standards and good communication were best placed to deliver better outcomes for their clients.

Antony didn’t need a crisis in the building industry to know that experience matters.
