Why Choose Us

Why Everlong Joinery is the best kitchen Designer in Newcastle

We care about design.
It all starts - and sometimes ends -  with design. As the host of Grand Designs, Kevin Mcloud, says, "any man-made thing should be well made and durable; it should be ergonomic and fit for purpose; it should have bought no harm to anybody or anything, and it should evoke delight and lasting pleasure in use."

That design might start with your interior designer, architect or builder, all of whom we are happy to collaborate with or it might start with us, likely in our showroom over a cuppa. We will produce a comprehensive design and keep working with you until we have reached the end goal.

We care about choice.
For some, the choice is exciting. For others, it can be overwhelming. Either way, we will lead you through the whole process to help you find something uniquely 'you'. For inspiration come and see our showroom at Belmont where you can find a world-class range of colours, finishes, benchtops, doors, splashbacks and hardware products including the very latest trends and timeless classics. See our products and materials list for more information on what is available.

We care about the environment.
It might be a bit cliche to say you care about the environment these days and in our business, it's a lot harder to live up to... there's a lot of waste in the renovation. But we do care about the world we will leave behind us so here's what we're doing about it.

It starts, as every renovation does, with the demolition. The sad truth is that most kitchen cabinets we rip out are made from non-recyclable products which are not good for the planet's health. If you can remove them without damaging them too much, however, they can live on. We actually encourage and support our clients to find a new use for their old kitchens rather than just dump them.

As for your new cabinets, where possible, we use material rated E0 or E1, which emits the lowest levels of formaldehyde on the market..it is definitely the way to go.

90% of the timber we use is recycled hardwood, it oozes character and reduces waste. Not only do we recycle timber, but we also make a great effort to recycle everything we can and follow the three r's..Reduce, reuse, recycle.

We care about the community.
We love Newcastle, it is a great place to live, bring up a family and run a business. We are committed to continuing our support to the local community by employing local tradesmen and offering opportunities to apprentices. Free of charge we have donated our time and resources to community projects in support of the local business. As good as neighbours, we always use qualified local tradies, whether they're plumbers, electricians, plasterers or tilers. We continue to offer local youngsters work experience placements and we support local businesses by shopping locally, whenever possible.

The Design Process

Your Dream Kitchen Starts right here….

Did you know as well as offering our design & quote service, we offer design only packages?

We know our time frames don’t always suit everyone’s project deadlines which can be a letdown if you have your heart set on an Everlong design. This is where our design only service comes in handy, we will give you the Everlong experience and provide you with everything you need to obtain accurate quotes through other manufacturers.

Step 1- Why Getting to know you is important
We know what it takes to make a kitchen that works, but we don’t know what it takes to make one that works for you…that’s why our design process is so important to us.

Just like the joinery we build, Everlong isn’t run of the mill. We commit to delivering one off kitchen designs using cutting edge design concepts and knowledge combined with old school craftsmanship and attentive service.

When we say we build your joinery around you, we mean it in every sense.

The kitchen is the heart of the home so we understand that it is a huge decision to put your trust in someone to bring your dream to life. We are here to lead you through the whole process from the beginning right to the very end.

Step 2- let's get the ball rolling
The best time to get the ball rolling is in the early planning stages of your build or renovation and after you have worked out how much you have to spend. First things first, we will send you out a questionnaire in advance that will cover a lot of the information we will require, this will help save time in our initial meeting and use the time for more exciting topics to be discussed. It is also super helpful if you are able to send us images of your design style in advance also so that we can see the direction you are looking to head in.

Our initial one on one appointment can either be in our showroom (this option will generally give you the most out of your appointment) or in your home. We will generally discuss things such as your family, your style, how you use the space, your personal tastes, your appliances, materials, your timing and your budget.

What is the cost?

  • We offer a free quotation service if we are provided with details joinery plans & specifications.
  • For design & quotes, we charge a modest, initial design fee of $250.00 for all in a home or showroom design appointments regarding a kitchen alone and $1,000.00 for projects that require a larger scope of work such as a new build with multiple rooms requiring joinery design and specification. The costs of which will be credited off the cost of any project you undertake with us.
  • Our design only service fee is $1,000 for a single space such as a kitchen & $5,000.00 for a larger scope of works such as a new build with multiple rooms requiring joinery.

What does it include?

An initial one on one design appointment either in your home or in our showroom. The preparation of a return design brief consisting of 3D rendered conceptual development of your proposed design accompanied by a proposed material selection and official quotation.

For those that proceed with our design only service, following our initial design appointment and upon finalising the proposed design, you will receive detailed 3D rendered concepts of each space along with dimensioned plans & specification documentation. This documentation will include all aspects of the Interior design proposal including suggestions for furnishings, lighting, etc. This package will provide you with everything you need to obtain detailed quotations from suppliers and manufacturers.

Step 3 - Once we have met. What's next?
We will quite literally draw on our experience as we hone in on our briefing and produce a return design brief, a proposed materials selection, an official quotation and of course the most exciting part, the initial conceptual 3D rendered design. We can arrange a second meeting in our showroom to present these to you and also give you a digital copy for you to look over at home. We will also go through materials selections in this meeting as well.  Of course, you may like to make some changes to the design and that’s fine too, we will work with you until you are completely in love with your dream kitchen and we will adjust the quotation as we go.

Once you are 100% happy with your design, materials selection and quotation, it is time to book your installation date and pay your 10% deposit.

Following this, we will meet in our showroom again, this time to finalise the materials and document these into the final contract which will become the bible for your kitchen manufacture.

Step 4 - It’s time to start manufacture
Measure twice, cut once. It's time we do our check measure, this will generally take place in a new build once the framework is up and in a renovation, we will just be checking either your original measurements or double checking ours, either way, it will make you and us feel 100% confident. At this stage, we will ask for your second progress payment of 40%.

Step 5 - Confirm plans
Sign on the dotted line…….

Having checked and measured the space, we will then produce our construction plans so they are millimetre perfect to ensure our installation will fit precisely in the available space. We will send our working drawings to you for your final approval. This will enable us to begin ordering the materials.

Your Beautiful new kitchen is on it’s way
