About us
We are an Australian-owned company focused on delivering quality locally manufactured and sourced, wood-based and decorative building products that enable architects and designers to Specify Responsibly.
Since our inception under the Gunnersen brand more than 140 years ago, we've been a major player in the building industry, providing excellent service, and supplying materials for building and interior design. We're immensely proud of our history and now even more excited about our future direction, enabling architects and designers to build a sustainable future. Our mission is to source and supply best-in-class materials that empower specifiers to achieve their sustainability goals.
If you're a project specifier, work with us and experience the difference that comes with a century of know-how, a global supply network and a progressive drive for innovation.
Sustainability
We are committed to environmental sustainability and responsible sourcing, promoting and supplying certified forest products.
ForestOne has been importing timber into Australia since 1879. Australian and privately owned, ForestOne sources forest products from suppliers around the world and distributes them from seven warehouses across Australia.
As a natural and potentially sustainable resource, well-managed forests from which forest products are produced provide significant and measurable environmental
and economic benefits to communities, regions, countries and consumers. Forestry, as the husbandry of these resources, encompasses the protection of biodiversity, maintenance of ecosystems, landscaping and watercourse protection, and also provides socio-economic benefits to local communities.
Part of our commitment involves supplying only from legal sources, and wherever possible supplying products that are certified under either FSC® or RW/PEFC Chain of Custody (CoC). These organisations have developed strict standards outlining what is required to ensure forests are well managed.
Every organisation along the supply chain from a certified forest must meet additional standards relating to quality systems, material sourcing, production controls, transaction documentation, and labelling. Only those products that have come from an unbroken chain of certified organisations can claim these certifications.
What does our commitment mean for you?
Purchasing and using CoC products can help achieve certifications and green goals for your project. Contact us to request the necessary certificates, or see the download section below.
- You can be confident about the source of the material
- Your purchase helps promote the supply of certified product
- Your purchase helps ensure that natural resources are available for future generations
- Every organisation along the supply chain has been certified against Chain of Custody standards and is audited regularly
For Your Home
Most of our products are designed for large scale projects, so we developed a range just for home projects and renovations. Available around the country, Project Panels are car-friendly pieces representing the most popular and easy to use elements of our ranges. Whether you are recreating a Pinterest find or a DIY master working on a new project, Project Panels has a wide range of options to help you achieve your goals.
Project Panels
Project Panels offers a range of cut-to-size panel products within hardware stores. The range includes MDF, Melamine, Chalkboard, Marker Whiteboard, Plywood, Weathertex, Masonite, Corflute, Clear Acrylic, Easycraft and Pegboard.
Acoustic Pinboard
Acoustic Pinboard is a 9mm thick decorative interior wall covering of woven polyester board available in grey, black, and white finishes that can be covered with decorative fabrics or kept as delivered to suit any design aesthetic. Highly durable, these acoustic panels absorb noise and are great as traditional pinboards. Acoustic Pinboards provide an attractive sound solution to office spaces and interior design applications that can be easily be covered to suit any interior colour scheme. They easily transform any vertical surface into a vibrant, noise-reducing wall or display pinboard.
