Having completed our house to a very high standard, we absolutely love their workmanship and their attention to detail. When it had been finally determined by our insurer that our home was earthquake damaged beyond repair, our next concern was how to go about finding a reputable builder. In 2013, stories of bad building experiences were starting to emerge, and it was with considerable trepidation that we started on the process of designing our new home, and finding a good builder. Fortunately, our architect was able to refer us to Form Builders in Christchurch as a company that was know for high quality work. When we met Matt and Andrew Stevenson, we felt very comfortable with their approach to get our project and their ability to work closely with our architect. We are delighted with the outcome. The Form team has built us a beautiful house, which has been admired for the quality of the build itself, and the overall attention to detail. Of particular note was the professionalism of the team onsite, with care taken to maintain a clean, orderly and well organised work environment. Form Builders have given us a house to be proud of. As it was our first home build, we had only heard of the misfortune of others. The house we wanted to build was very simple. Large, open plan with long straight lines and an unusual roof line. We gradually became aware that the simple house wasn't so simple, the care that was taken to produce the symmetry was amazing, as one of the apprentices told me, when asked was was having to redo a job "I was less than a millimeter out, but he said it wasn't good enough." I saw the house being built every day, I saw how much care was take to achieve the long clean lines and Form Builders gave me the house I wanted. After earthquakes and gales, we finally go the house we had hoped for. A beautiful house, warm and sunny, a house that feels right, a house I know was built right. When we were asked if they could enter our house in the House of the Year competition, we felt quite proud, to our delight our not so simple house was awarded a gold standard award. No hassles, no problems, I still get a thrill when I walk in and feel the height of the ceilings and the length of the hall, knowing that I wouldn't have the look if they hadn't taken so much care.

Each stage of what proved to be an extremely difficult project was undertaken with outstanding skill and professionalism. Before work began you made sure that neighbours were fully informed of possible disruption and we have received many expressions of appreciation. Once repairs were under way many unexpected challenges emerged, and on each occasion you, Craig and your staff, were able to meet those challenges with expertise. At all times the workmanship of your staff and your sub contractors was excellent. This was especially noticeable in the finishing work where it must have been very difficult matching the new with the old. We were particularly impressed by your management of the whole project and your selection of sub contractors who obviously share your high standards. At times we found the issues that cropped up quite daunting. However, you and Craig were always willing to assist by providing us with straight forward and sensible advice. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Your staff also displayed the same positive and helpful approach. It speaks for itself that despite the difficulties that could not have been anticipated, the project was finished last week in good time. We were very fortunate that your company was assigned to our repair project by our Insurers. We have no hesitation in recommending Form Builders Ltd.
