Over two years ago my partner Lisa and I purchased a large two storey house on twenty four hectares of land in Fairlie. There was a vast amount of work required to improve the house and we employed Lain Hellmrich to undertake this. The majority of work took over six months to complete and was a very challenging job involving major rebuilding of the ground floor and part of the second storey to our plans whilst maintaining the original 1912 style.

With Lisa and myself overseas at the time Lain's role developed into managing all the various trades required, including plumbers, roofers, tilers, plasters, drain layers, painters, electricians, his own team of builders plus meeting with the building inspector and adhering to council requirements all the while having regular phone conversations with us overseas. A very difficult task as the rebuild exposed many challenges as is progressed.

We can honestly say we are thrilled with the results. The quality of workmanship is excellent, the accounting and invoicing was accurate, Lain made himself available to review and discuss the work as it progressed, plus Lain and his team still went that extra bit further on many occasions. The fact that further work is currently been undertaken by High Country Carpentry is proof of the confidence we have in Lain and his team. I can sincerely recommend Lain as an excellent professional tradesman and an excellent person to work with.

Recently, we have had extensive building work undertaken by Lain Hellmrich of High Country Carpentry Ltd. We have always found Lain to be very personable and professional in all aspects of this project. From design to Council Permits, construction advice and recommendations Lain has helped us through the many situations involved in bringing our planned ‘retirement home’ to completion.

We are very pleased with the finish and total construction costs. Lain and his team are careful, patient and focused on all the factors involved in building.
