MG Gardens offers complete landscape design packages as well as consultation and plant-related services. Our landscape design process is outlined below.

Initial Consultation
An initial site visit is carried out to get a feel for the project, establish what your needs are, as well as get a feel for the setting and architecture. From this, we’ll establish a client brief and discuss ideas and potential options for your space.

Our aim in this meeting is to collect as much of the relevant information about the project as possible, thus ensuring an outstanding outcome.

Fee Proposal
Following the initial consultation, you'll be sent a fee proposal including a client brief and a summary of costs for each stage of the design process.

Initial Plans
The initial concept plan will be created using the client brief, site analysis, surveys, and architectural plans. This will include indicative planting, material suggestions, and notations about how certain areas are to be treated. ​A mood board will be presented, demonstrating the look and feel of the designs, including images of finishes, features, and planting styles.

We’ll set up a meeting to present the plans, discussing them in detail, to make sure it fits with your vision.

Amendments
Take some time to digest the plans, and finalise any changes that may have been discussed during the initial presentation, or since our meeting.

Final Plans
On finalising the initial concept design, the final set of plans are developed. These will include planting plan and schedule, materials schedule, set out plans and specifications. Depending on the size and scope, it may also include design details and lighting plans.

This documentation provides a detailed scope for the landscape contractor, ensuring the full realisation of our design. We can also help with council permits at this stage if required.

Construction and Beyond
Once the final plans are completed, we’ll recommend one of the landscape contractors that we think will suit the project. We’ll also establish any additional services and fees you may engage us for such as procuring beautiful plants, pots, and furniture, or engaging us for project consultation during construction.

We offer a project consultation service, as we love to be involved with our projects throughout construction to ensure that the initial design is realised, and help with any questions and concerns that may come up during construction. As part of the project consultation process, we’ll also arrange for a follow-up visit 6 months following completion to walk through the garden and discuss any questions you may have.

Once the garden has settled in, we can assist with seasonal site visits to offer advice on any maintenance and care questions that arise. We can also help to create an ongoing maintenance plan or recommend professionals to care for your garden on an ongoing basis. We want you to get maximum enjoyment with a minimum fuss.

Being qualified horticulturalists, with a passion for plants, we can also help with planting plans, horticultural advice, and plant procurement. We’re not just about new builds, but also love to work on established gardens to update and restore them.
