Our office liaises with your builder or project manager to coordinate the work and our capable plumbers get the job done. If you are project managing your own build, we can advise you on a plumbing schedule and our requirements at each stage. 

We design and install integrated central heating systems, including radiators and underfloor heating. Our heat sources include air-to-water heat pumps, gas and diesel boilers, ground source (geothermal) heating, thermal stores and solar collectors. Optum have a strong interest in sustainable design and utilising renewable energy sources.

Whether you're trying to improve your existing system or need a complete solution for a new build, we'll advise you on the best system for your requirements, incorporating cost and efficiency. We've invested many years of research to find what works in the South Island climate. 

Central Otago is blessed with some of the best sunlight hours in New Zealand, so a large portion of water heating and power needs can be met by solar energy. Our aim is to provide a system that meets your energy needs, has a rapid return on your investment and lowers your carbon footprint.

We supply and install a range of solar products including PV Panels for electricity, solar collector panels for water heating and swimming pool water heating. We can incorporate solar collectors as part of an integrated heating system using a thermal store.

We work with our reputable partner Sunz Energy to provide quality systems, custom designed for your home with leading technology. Our qualified solar specialists look after installation right through to connection. We’ll assist with the required paperwork and inspections to get your system up and running.

Kevin Henderson's (Managing Director) main role within Optum is advisory, providing a consultancy service to architects and designers. Whether it's a casual catch up over some concept plans, to large scale proposals or providing detailed consent design drawings, Kevin is always interested in discussing new projects. We have the capability to install integrated systems, incorporating heating, plumbing and energy. These systems require specific, technical design, which is where Kevin can help. 

We have strong working relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers, who provide specialist technical design support, if required. We aim to stay at the forefront of a constantly developing industry and we have access to many experts in their fields.
