A Frame House, Arrowtown banner

This Arrowtown House is a celebration of aniconic form, articulated and updated for modern living. During the day the house is seamlessly connected to its surrounding, bathed in sunlight while private from its neighbours. There is a real honesty in how each of the materials, finishes and fittings contribute to the simple effectiveness of the end product. Strong all-white interior lines change form as the sun picks up the angled ‘A’ frame geometry. Every element has its place and the overall impression is one of clarity. Artificial linear lighting in the ceiling offers the final delicate reminder of the iconic ‘A’ frame heritage.

About Erskine Construction

Experience matters, results count

A local Queenstown building business with the best network, Erskine Construction always goes further.

For 15 years, Erskine Construction has stayed one of the Wakatipu Basin’s leading builders of high-end homes. It is all underpinned by combining local knowledge with global best-practice.

Owner and manager Andy Erskine has deep roots in the region and counts back on decades in the construction industry.

Both an award-winning Master Builder and a fully accredited carpenter, he puts his own name to everything he does.

To ensure quality, he is personally involved at every level. On each job he negotiates with architects, manages subcontractors and works on-site as a leading hand and master tradesman.

“I do it all. I see everything and everything must meet my standards,” Andy says.

“When a job is complete, I can say I have been personally involved in every part of it.”

Flexible and fully tailored

Decades spent nurturing its business network means Erskine Construction offers a fully tailored service and can always call on the correct subcontractor for any job.

“My staff and I are more than builders. We know every job is different,” Andy says.

“We have the right connections to get the right results. The people I subcontract are those who can get the job done to exceed my clients’ standards.”

Everything rests on the hardest thing to build: reputation.

“It is called Erskine Construction: the business’s name is my own name.

“My personal reputation is only as good as the weakest link my company employs. So we always offer a bit more. We don’t just finish a job, pack up and leave.

“Those finishing touches, especially on the exterior, those really count.”

Erskine Construction is driven toward excellence by the vision of its founder and owner.

“I can actually turn someone’s dreams into the real thing,” Andy says.

“That’s why I do this.”
