ZARMA - A Modern Masterpiece by Amores Design
This month, we're highlighting ZARMA, a stunning residence that exemplifies the pinnacle of bespoke design. Architecturally designed by Amores Design, ZARMA is a personal sanctuary created by the collaboration of Allan Amores and the BARLOW Building team, who are also the homeowners.
Nestled amidst the serene waters of Broadbeach, ZARMA is a masterpiece of meticulous design and natural beauty. Departing from the typical architectural styles of the area, the home celebrates the raw beauty of natural materials, resulting in a unique and inviting space.
The centerpiece of ZARMA is the swimming pool and surrounding tranquil garden. Upon entering through the 3.6-meter frameless glass pivot door, visitors are immediately captivated by the spacious and open interior. The courtyard was thoughtfully designed to create a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor living areas, allowing the breeze from the south to flow through the house. The alfresco living space is perfect for entertaining guests. Equipped with a built-in barbecue and fully equipped bar that offers a comfortable outdoor dining experience.
Inside, the ground floor bathroom features a luxuriously curved shower clad in handmade Japanese tiles, a bedroom, an executive office, and a serene atrium garden. Upstairs, the master suite offers breathtaking city skyline and water views, along with a bespoke bedhead, walk-in wardrobe, and a minimalist ensuite.
Throughout the home, subtle repetition of curves in the furniture, lighting, and architectural details creates a harmonious and luxurious atmosphere.
One of the challenges Allan Amores faced was that the house is located in a flood area, which required raising the house one meter above ground. To maintain the desired indoor-outdoor living experience, Amores designed the pool area and central courtyard to be at the same level as the indoor living areas. This created an intimate relationship between the outdoor and indoor spaces.
