The concept for this prominent site was to create an office precinct with an eye catching frontage onto the State Highway and the airport entry road with an internal pocket park to provide a sheltered sanctuary for workers in the centre of the buildings.
Earthwork initially undertook analysis of the proposed site parking layout and provided a recommendation of a more efficient layout which not only increased the efficiency and movement through the site, it also used the space much more effectively to create a pocket park in the centre.
Earthwork Landscape Architects is a practice based in Christchurch, New Zealand with a strong commitment to its client’s needs and the landscape, a clear philosophy and a history of top quality project delivery. The practice grew out of a rural location where it expanded its expertise in site planning and public design to a broad range of professional engagement. These original strengths in logical, well planned design and a commitment to the natural environment have been retained in our work.
The company now employs seven people, works throughout the South Island of New Zealand and overseas, across commercial, public and private projects. The practice has identified its core skills and these form the backbone of the multidisciplinary work that is now typically carried out. These core skills are site planning, landscape identity, communication and project delivery.
