Upper House is a 30 storey residential development by Aria Property Group in South Brisbane due for completion in 2022. The Upper House Display build, showcases interior design and fittings using a custom Art Hanging Systems product solution.
THE BRIEF
Design a custom hanging solution that works with curved timber panelled walls and an LED lit ceiling coffer. Art Hanging Systems designed a custom solution for a seamless invisible hanging system that blends with the sophisticated design.
CHALLENGES
There were challenges with this project as the timber panelling was to remain untouched to emphasise the architectural curves and keep a clean articulated wall line, so no wall attached system could be used.
Additionally, the illuminated ceiling coffers tend to light up the hanging rail fixed to the ceiling and become very obvious.
RESULT
The solution Art Hanging Systems offered was a customised version of Top Rail, pre fixed to powder-coated right angle aluminium.
We call this solution a "Shroud" where the top rail and its fixings are prefixed into the internal angle of the aluminium. The aluminium angle is fixed up into the ceiling structure. The right angle pointing toward the floor becomes a shroud to hide the Top Rail and present a clean line in the ceiling.
Artworks hang beautifully with near invisible Nylon hangers. Our super thin 1mm diameter Twister Hangers and Frame Hanger fittings screw fit to the artwork frames offer hanging ease, flexibility and security in the public space.
